Transport Engineer - Genesis10 (Evansville, IN)

Genesis10 is currently seeking Transport Engineers with Sonet Long Haul experience for our client, a large telecommunications company in Evansville, IN. Summary: · Write detailed engineering specifications for the deployment of Sonet and DWDM systems · Remotely assist field installation team in the commissioning / test and turn up of deployed system. · Write detailed Methods of Procedure for the implementation of maintenance activity to add deployed system to the network · Provide technical leadership and project management in area of expertise for the engineering staff. Enhance operations and maintain reliability of systems · Promote positive change in the company's business strategy through achievement of customer specific objectives and technological innovation of practical and profitable nature · Work on problems of diverse scope. Exercise full understanding of practices, policies and processes Requirements: · Three to five years of direct experience in writing installation specifications Sonet and/or DWDM systems Skills: · Experience with equipment includes Cisco 15454 MSPP and MSTP, passive DWDM systems, Transmode, and Optelian · Knowledge and experience with SONET, DWDM, and Circuits Nice To Have's: Cisco certifications MetaSolv TBS or M6 Education/Experience College degree and 2-4 years related experience or 6 + years equivalent related Engineering/Technical experience or a combination of education and related Engineering/Technical experience required.
