Transport Engineer/Backhaul Engineer - Comforce Telecom (Evansville, IN)

Job Functions: - Develop Engineering designs and detailed Engineering packages on per project basis - Provide technical expertise and support to various internal departments - Evaluate and manage the implementation of new technologies and processes in Engineering - Prepare Request for Proposals/Quotes (RFP/RFQ) to vendors and contracted services. - Oversee EF&I Projects - Specify and procure hardware as part of project design - Write detailed Methods of Procedure (MoPs) for implementation and maintenance activity Preferred Technical and Vendor Background (some but not all required): - Cisco 15454 MSTP/MSPP - Cisco 7600/ME3400 - Accedian MetroNODE/MetroNID/EtherNID family - SONET OCX - Long Haul transport - Passive DWDM - Facility Power Engineering - Ethernet Transport / Ethernet over SONET / Packet Transport - Wavelength services - Optelian, Cyan, Transmode, Adtran products Preferred Software Knowledge: - Microsoft Office Products - Microsoft Visio - Microsoft Project - Remedy - Metasolv - Cisco IOS - TL1 Experience - College Degree and 2-4 years’ experience in telecommunications/IT/IS/Computer related industry or 6 or more years equivalent experience. - CCNA/CCNP a plus No relocation is offered at this time.
