Southwestern Behavioral Healthcare, Inc operates 14 locations in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties, is one of 25 community mental health centers in Indiana. Since 1971, Southwestern has been a leader in providing a wide range of programs and services to meet the mental health and addiction needs of our communities. Services are available to all individuals, youth to elderly, who are in need of mental health and addiction treatment and annually, over 9,500 individuals receive services.
Southwestern works to meet the behavioral healthcare needs of our communities. Our services include acute psychiatric care for all age groups, 24-hour emergency services, and a full range of services from outpatient and addiction treatment to older adult services for individuals with serious and persistent mental illnesses.
Southwestern, through education and outreach services, emphasizes the importance of prevention and educational programs for the well-being of our communities. Through our programs, services, and our outreach, it is our goal to achieve great strides in reducing the stigma associated with seeking mental health services.
We currently have an opening for a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide outpatient services to Southwestern patients with psychiatric illness. Primary duties include diagnosis and medication management of psychiatric disorders, treatment planning in collaboration with other Southwestern team members, and consultation with families and other professionals concerning treatment. Clinical supervision and educational presentations about clinical topics may also be requested on occasion.

Our diverse team of psychiatrists, nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologist, therapists, case managers, and mental health technicians brings a wealth of education and experience to approximately 8,000 patients each year, by providing quality services from 15 locations in our four-county service area. The Youth Day Treatment Program, a partial-hospitalization program for pediatric patients, and a collaborative effort with Vanderburgh County School Corporation, is a valuable child services program. In addition to child therapists, advanced practice nurses specializing in child psychiatry, and community resource specialists also provide much needed care to our child and adolescent patients.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have a medical degree with licensure to practice medicine in the State of Indiana. Candidates must be Board Certified or eligible for Board Certification, in Psychiatry and in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
